Hit or Miss? Cheryl X L'Oreal

I managed to resist picking up the Cheryl x L'Oreal lipkits for a whole 3 days before 'falling' into boots and 'acidently' picking up all 3 shades. These colours are all very me shades. Out of the whole Matte Lip Paint range these are my top 3 picks, a peach toned nude, muted purple and deep, burgundy red. Paint it Peach, Paint it Griege and Paint it Burgundy.

Packaging - The cardboard packaging makes this product feel more high end than the average drugstore lipstick. I like how the image allows customers to see the shade of the lipstick on the lips before purchasing. After all, we've all been in that situation when the lip colour we loved the look of in the bullet looks hideous on the lips. As for the liquid lipstick and the lip liner, the packaging is no different to those in the usual L'Oreal range.

Formula - Overall the staying power is pretty poor. These liquid lipsticks are unlike any other matte formula I have tried. After application they feel very moussey and wet, I was expecting these to dry down to a more matte finish. I would compare the feel of the product on first application to the Boujoir Rouge Velvet lipsticks, however unlike the Boujoir ones these don't change texture once they settle on your lips. Eating whilst wearing the L'Oreal lip paint is best avoided. The deep red shade is very patchy, even after a couple of layers an opaque colour is impossible to achieve. The lip liners, however, are a lovely formula and are much more long lasting. The lip liner looks great alone, drawn all over the lip - a look I've been wearing a lot lately.

Cheryl and L'Oreal have teamed up with The Prince's Trust with this launch. £1 from each lip kit purchased will go to the charity.

Overall: Miss

Kylie Cosmetics // Lip Kit Review and Lip Swatches

So as you can see by the title I was among the thousands of people desperate to get their hands on these little beauties. I am, obviously, obsessed with all things makeup but I am *almost* equally obsessed with all things Kylie Jenner. On my third time battling the crashing web pages and other customers I managed to grab myself 4 Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits. So are they worth the hype?...

In one word, yes. These are pretty amazing. Liquid lipsticks are always very hit or miss and I usually stay away from them. I find most a pain in the bum to apply and then find they crumble so fast. These have changed the game for me. I love everything about them, the colour range, the formulation, the application and the staying power.

I picked up the shades Posie K, Candy K, Dolce K and Kourt K. I wanted to try out one of each type of colour to test out the formulas so I picked up a nude, brown, pink and berry. The only colour which is different in formulation is Kourt K. As I was expecting from reading and watching sooooo many reviews Kourt K is a much thinner consistency than the lighter shades so it needs a couple of applications to get an even colour. Saying that, that doesn't put me off too much as once it is applied it, like the others, lasts and looks amazing. Kourt K is such an eye-catching colour. The design of the bottle itself and all of the packaging is so sleek and gorgeous, the only bad thing I have to say about the bottle itself ia that it doesn't have anything to block too much product coming out. So there is often way too much product on the applicator to create a seamless outline.

Mac Lipstick Collection // 2016

It's been a little while since my last Mac lipstick collection post and it's fair to say it has grown in size... When it comes to lipsticks no one does it better than Mac. With so many different shades and formulae it's obvious why I can never resist, right?! Some people collect stamps, I like Mac lipsticks.
